Frequently Asked Questions

Australian Breastfeeding Project - Event

  • How long will it take to get my images?

The timeframe for the completion of galleries can vary significantly, depending on the number of sessions that have been conducted concurrently. During peak periods, it may take approximately 12 weeks for sessions to be finalized. Our dedicated editing team strives to work efficiently, while ensuring the high standard of images that the ABP is renowned for. However, as a small business, we do encounter unforeseen circumstances such as sickness, which may occasionally cause delays in delivery times.

Once the necessary preparations have been completed, you will be sent an email containing a password. However, in the event that you have concerns about potentially missing this email, we invite you to regularly check the following link: https://australianbreastfeedingproject.shootproof.com/

If your gallery has a cover image, this indicates that photos are currently being uploaded to it, suggesting completion is imminent. Conversely, if your gallery does not have a cover photo, it is presently undergoing edits. Lastly, if your gallery is not visible at all, it has not yet commenced the editing process.

  • How long is the gallery open for?

The galleries are accessible for a duration of 14 days, after which they are closed and stored in an archive. It is important to note that once closed, the galleries cannot be accessed anymore. Hence, I kindly advise everyone to avoid waiting until the last minute to purchase images, as this may pose potential issues that we would like to resolve prior to the gallery closure.

Upon completing the purchase, you will receive a download email containing a link.

In the event that the galleries are specifically requested to be reopened, a 24-hour window will be available. However, this request can only be made after a month has passed since the gallery closure, and please be aware that it may still take several weeks before such an opening becomes possible.

  • What do we wear?

Dress code is all white. Options include a white dress, skirt and top, or pants and top ect. Additionally, wearing a white headband or a white flower in your hair is encouraged, although optional. For the little ones in tow, they may be naked or in white attire.

  • How do I purchase a ticket

Tickets are released through events in our support group on Facebook,  which are also sent out through email if you are registered.
You will receive emails for all events in your state as many women are wanting to travel.

  • I have a ticket but can't attend anymore, what do I do?

If you’re not planning to use the ticket, feel free to offer it to someone else. Just remember that any money transfers or other related responsibilities are up to you. Don’t forget to transfer all the necessary ticket details, so everything runs smoothly.

Please ensure you update ticket information. It’s important to note that you should be on the website, not the app, for this.

  • What to bring to a session?

Please consider bringing warmer attire, even if the weather is not expected to be cold, as some individuals have found it necessary while waiting.
It would be helpful to bring snacks and a beverage, as there may be occasional delays for individual images. Also many like to bring a picnic rug to use to be comfortable.
Kindly refrain from bringing cameras, as past sessions have experienced certain incidents. Taking photos using your phone is perfectly acceptable.

  • How long does a session take?

This depends on a few things but I say to everyone to allow two hours. We currently have split sessions so one hour before and after the group session, so hopefully is not much longer than an hour but it does vary.
Once you have had your group photo and individual you are welcome to head home.

  • Can I bring family and other children?

Of course! Many woman bring family or friends to help out with the children. Your photos don’t take long at all so many find it nice to have a play while they wait.

  • Can partner or other kids be in the images?

This is a difficult question for me to answer as I can never predict how smoothly these sessions will go.
If there is enough time this should be ok, we do ask though you wait until one of the last to make it fair on others.
Make sure they wear white too, doesn’t have to be all white but dad in a white shirt etc.

  • What are the costs?

We have tried to keep this really affordable for everyone.

  • Will my images be used?

Yes, it is likely that your images may be used for social media, the website, news outlets, and other purposes. We are occasionally approached to use our images to help normalize breastfeeding, and we will carefully select images from our galleries for this purpose. Unfortunately, due to the size of our sessions and the project, we cannot  take images that cannot be used as we have no way to separate them. If you still wish to participate but do not want your child’s face to be included in any images, please inform your photographer before the session.
